Bankruptcy comes at a time when money and credit may be in low supply for the person planning to file for bankruptcy, this realty is clear and hard to miss. Less than 1/3 of all chapter 13 bankruptcies that are filed are finished successfully. |If you your bankruptcy is dismissed, you can normally attempt to file again, but if you did not get it right the first time, you probably won’t get it right the second time without an attorney helping you.

New Jersey Bankruptcy Court Fees

Costs linked with filing a bankruptcy circumstance are charged by the New Jersey Federal Bankruptcy Court. The Tribunal charges these fees to cover the administrative costs they incur when your case is submitted. This payment differs depending on what Chapter of bankruptcy you plan to record. The filing fee for Chapter seven bankruptcy is now $ 338, while the submitting fee for chapter 13 is $313.

One class is taken before filing for bankruptcy and the other class is taken after the bankruptcy has been filed. These courses cost about $20 each. If you own real estate, we have to charge $150 per property to have a CMA done.  A CMA is a Competitive Market Analysis that will have a New Jersey Real Estate Broker perform the analysis of the property to explain to the bankruptcy trustee just what your property is worth.  We use First Look Realty for our CMAs, but you can get one elsewhere if you have someone that will do it for you.

If you need a payment plan, we can only file the chapter 7 after we have been paid in full. Techincally all debts including debts to your bankruptcy attorney are discharged in a chapter 7 as soon as it is filed.  We will file the bankruptcy the same day if you need to stop a garnishment or get your car back from being repossessed if you can have someone else agree to pay the chapter 7 for you on a payment plan.
